Welcome to our basketball sessions tailored for children aged 3 to 7 years old. These sessions provide an introduction to the world of basketball while focusing on essential movement skills and values such as sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, and a positive attitude. Our goal is to create a supportive and enjoyable environment where young participants can develop both physically and socially. Through interactive activities, fundamental drills, and cooperative games, we aim to lay the foundation for a lifelong appreciation of sports and the important life values they teach.
Our Pre-School & Year 1 session is for pre-school aged 3 & 4 children & for Reception children who are new to the sport, or may need parental guidance.
The Reception & Year 1 session is for Reception children who do not need parental guidance & for Yr 1 children who are new to the sport, and may prefer and environment mixed with Reception as opposed to our Yr 1-2 session.
The Year 1 & 2 session is for Year 2 and more advanced Year 1 children, who have been attending our sessions for a while.
While spectators are more than welcome to attend our Baby Ballers sessions, we encourage independent participation, following the model of our older age group sessions. This approach helps foster self-reliance from a young age.
For our Under 4 & 5 Mixed session (3-4 Year Olds & Reception), we recommend parents stay outside the sports hall behind the viewing glass. However, if your child needs your support, you are welcome to come in and assist them.
We kindly request that spectators remain outside the sports hall and behind the viewing glass during our Under 5 & 6 Mixed session (Experienced Reception & Novice Yr 1). Our coaches will ensure that children are brought to the door to meet parents if needed.
There are no spectators for this session, but there will be a ‘watching week’ during the last week of each half term, where parents are allowed inside the gym to view.
